JSON formatter and validator
Paste JSON to pretty-print it, minify it, or find out exactly where it's broken.
Frequently asked questions
What does a JSON formatter do?
It parses your JSON and prints it back with consistent indentation so it is easy to read, or removes all whitespace (minify) to make it as small as possible.
Why is my JSON invalid?
The most common causes are trailing commas, single quotes instead of double quotes, unquoted keys and comments. The error message shows the line and column where parsing stopped.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. Formatting uses your browser's built-in JSON parser, so API responses and config files with secrets stay on your machine.
